Sawasdee krap,
At your request, we have just added a youtube video, featuring Thai elephants
from the famous Gallery Maesa in Chiangmai, Thailand. Many wonder how
such giant creatues can create such beautiful artwork. Well, it's not that easy and it takes an elephant 2 years of training to achieve the talent, but
if you view the videos, it sure does seem easy to them. I especially think it's cute how the elephants also carry their paint pails around with them!
Please see our new painting selections at our Thai Elephant Paintings line. .
Best,
Mike

We have added new elephant paintings to our Thai Elephant Paintings line. The Thai elephants

Sawasdee krap,
I just had a successful journey to and from Thailand! I had a wonderful time visiting with my family and friends. A lot of my younger cousins are growing up and taking on new jobs
and traveling more so it was neat to see them take their first steps
out of the educational system in Thailand.
Obviously, a good portion of my trip was spent visiting the local
markets in Chiangmai and Bangkok. While in Chiangmai, I had the
pleasure of visiting the prestigious Gallery Maesa Elephant Camp, an
elephant conservation started in 1976 by Mr. Chuchart Kalmapijit.
At Gallery Maesa, I had the opportunity to see their elephant
performers. It was quite a sight and it always amazes me to witness
the agility, coordination and intelligence of these joyful
elephants. During the show, the elephant performers gave playful
massages to their handlers, played soccer, threw darts at balloons
and some even painted.
The elephant artists have quite a story. At the age of 2, a few
select young elephants are taught to first hold a brush - a learning
process that usually takes a month. Once they learn to put paint on
paper, they are allowed to 'choose' their preferred style, from
which point a full-time art teacher provides them with further
guidance. You may notice my home page has a new featured item - Thai
elephant paintings, to commemorate National Thai Elephant Day on
March 13. These paintings are authenticated with a Gallery Maesa
stamp and come with a picture of the elephant and handler, along
with facts about the elephant (name, birthdate, sex, etc.).
I will provide further (and more frequent) product updates as they
are added to The 'Nest. Thanks again for visiting and we hope you
like our new product offerings which will be added over the course
of the next few months.
Best,
Mike @ The 'Nest

Sawasdee krap,
Welcome to our Thai Gifts website, MangoNest.com! We launched earlier this year and are excited about the opportunity to bring the beauty of Thai aft and craftsmanship to America. Many of the Thai gifts listed on this site were previous personal purchases I made for my friends during my frequent trips to Thailand. The gifts are always well received due to the fact that many of my friends had never seen these products before.
The hand-painted oil paintings are always a favorite, since the variety of oil colors allows my friends to select a painting that suits their home décor.
Mango wood vases and tea light candle holders also add a nice flavor to your home, with or without dry flowers. I have received some requests to carry tea light candles for the candle holders. I am happy to oblige. Please check back early next year for a line of flower-shaped tea light candles.
I credit my cousins for introducing me to the designer scarves. Hand-sewn in Chiangmai,
Thailand, the designer scarves can be worn in various styles. When my cousins
had a chance to take English classes here in the states, the #1 question they
received from their friends was where they got their scarves. #2 question was if
they could bring some back with them the next time they visited. :-)
The incense and candle sets make the perfect small gift or stocking stuffer. One customer of mine offered them to his wedding guests and received many positive comments and even had a few tables honor him and his fiancée by holding up lit incense sticks.
Fisherman pants are the puzzler gift. Not many have seen these before, but after they put them on, they realize how light and comfortable they are.
If you’re looking for a high-end gift such as a wedding gift, consider our line of
porcelain tableware. These gifts make a great addition to your dining table or display case. Please check back early next year for an extended line of ceramic tableware.
Thanks for visiting us!
